The Difference between Being a Success and a Successful Life

Now, most people would consider this athlete "SUCCESSFULL". He is rich beyond anyone's imagination. He has and will set world records. He will undoubtedly be elected into his Hall of Fame, most likely on the first ballot.
But he is not a successful human being. It is common knowledge that he is universally disliked.

This got me to thinking. I am attending two funerals this week. One is the funeral of a man who was "successful" in the eyes of the world. That is, he made a lot of money. But he wasn't a terribly successful human being. He was estranged from his oldest son and hadn't spoken with him in years. He was a borderline alcoholic. There were other storms in his life. About 50 people will attend.

The other funeral is for a man who was not "SUCCESSFULL" in the eyes of the world. You would have never given him a second look had you seen him in the store. He wasn't wealthy. He was not high-profile. Yet he was quite a successful human being. People were encouraged and built up by this man. People were better because he graced their lives, even in small ways. His funeral will have about 200 people there, paying their last respects. He would have never guessed there would be that many, yet after he died, people came out of the woodwork to speak highly of him.

So, what is the difference? And can we be both "SUCCESSFULL" and a successful human being. I believe that we can have both. I do believe it is hard because the accumulation of wealth takes time and time at work, which usually takes away from time doing things that foster human relationships. But it is possible.

It can be done by those who understand balanced living and are aggressive time and priority managers.

Give yourself time to make your fortune or pursue your dreams, but give yourself time to make yourself a successful life as well.

Here are some tips for being a successful human being who has a successful life:

Love People, Use Things.
People who become "SUCCESSFULL" and miss a successful life are those who love things and use people. Be sure to put people as a priority for your life.

Take time off.
Life isn't just about work. There is so much else to experience here in this life, and unfortunately, too little times to enjoy it.

Be a giver.
Be someone who gives more than takes. Yes, we all have to take from time to time, but we should take only when we need to and give every time we have a chance to!

Be a life-long learner.
I truly believe that we become better people as we learn. Take time throughout your life to grow and learn and become a better person.

Keep a sense of humor.
People who laugh are a gift to the world. Don't take yourself or your circumstances to seriously. Learn to look on the bright side and see the humor in situations.

Honor your commitments.
This is a key to a successful life. We live this life based on commitments we make toward one another. Those who honor those commitments are those who will be respected and trusted by others.

Mentor someone.
Always take the time to mentor someone. I know this firsthand because of the energy a few people put into my life, sometimes just letting me know that they believed in me. This goes a long way and makes the world a better place.

I am sure there are other aspects of a successful life, but these are the simple ones that you can begin to apply today. Remember, you can work and become a success, and I encourage you to do so, but don't forget to live a successful life as well.

Achieve Your Goal and Get Exactly What You Want

No matter how ambitious your goal, you CAN achieve it. You do it by taking one little step at a time. If your dream seems overwhelming, break it down into small, manageable piece. Make each component easy to attain. Here are a few tips to help you:

1. Visualize Your Goal: The first step is to create a mental picture of your goal. Get very clear on what you want. Are you gaining a new skill? Hitting a new revenue goal? Landing a new important client? See and feel it. Imagine what you would look like in your new position, career, house, relationship, or body. How will your life be different as a result of attaining your goal?

2. Define Your Goal: Be very precise and write your goal down. Outline how much and by when. Add in specific information and resources (money, marketing materials, software, etc.) you will need to acquire to achieve your goal.

3. Make a Plan: When a goal seems too big, we tend to procrastinate because it is too overwhelming. Breaking it down and focusing on one piece at a time makes large goals more attainable. Develop a series of action steps with dates attached. As you finish each task, check it off and acknowledge yourself. Review your progress on a regular basis.

4. Post It: Put your goal in a place you can easily see it: next to your desk, on your mirror, in your wallet. Read it several times throughout each day. Make a timeline for accomplishing each step. This schedule can be drawn onto a large sheet of paper and posted somewhere that is easy to see each day. Don't allow your goal to fade away - revisit it regularly to assess your progress and any barriers that are coming up to prevent forward momentum.

5. Get Support: Who can help you achieve your goal? Who are your cheerleaders? List the people and companies you will need to contact for assistance. Contact them and ask for their help. Most people are more than happy to give a hand, be a cheerleader, or to mentor someone. If you need to hire someone to help you - a coach, a financial planner, or a trainer - do it. Remember, you are investing in yourself!

That’s it — five simple steps to achieve anything. As you move along, enjoy the journey. You are learning, growing, and accomplishing. Take time to appreciate your progress. Reaching a goal does not happen by accident. It is a series of intentional small steps, proper planning, and a stubborn commitment to make it happen.

As Business Author and Entrepreneur Mark Victor Hansen says, “By recording your dreams and goals on paper, you set in motion the process of becoming the person you most want to be. Put your future in good hands — your own.”

ACTION STEP: Why not begin right now? What do you really want to achieve? Write down your goal. You CAN do it!

Passion beyond Wealth
Healthy Wealthy and Wise

Wealth consultant Roger Hamilton is a leading expert in Asia. After making millions by the time he was 30 years old, he created the Wealth Dynamics Profiling System and wrote the international bestseller, "Wink and Grow Rich".

Additionally, Roger is a co-founder and the chairman for XL Results Foundation, the largest entrepreneur network in Asia Pacific. "XL Magazine" is the first magazine of its kind. It is published by XL Results Foundation and is dedicated to social enterprise.

Roger has made and lost millions in his lifetime. He believes we should learn from our mistakes, and today he teaches others to do the same. He specializes in building new businesses throughout Asia. He's what you would call a serial entrepreneur, and in fact, he launched his first Asian business in 1997 during the Asian Crisis.

Wealth isn't everything. You might think someone as successful as Roger Hamilton would be preoccupied by money. He's not. Passion is the motor of life. Passion, not money, is what makes people pop out of bed in the morning with enthusiasm about the day ahead. It's much easier to make money when you're doing what you love than simply working for a paycheck.

Roger has his own way of looking at wealth vs. passion. Wealth isn't money. It's not what you have. Wealth is what's left over after you lose your fortunes. When your passion is money, you have nothing after you've lost the money. When your passion is something else that something can help you build wealth once again.

Life is made up of one choice after another. Roger Hamilton learned that lesson well while attending Cambridge University. He went to school to study architecture, but he had a passion for rowing. He enjoyed practicing with the team. In addition, he had friends who encouraged him to get a job to pay for a fun trip to Greece with them.

So many times we're also faced with several choices that are all equally important to us. When that happens, Roger likes to turn the choice into just one long question to get one combined answer. We can multitask at work, so why not multitask with our passions?

To become an architect, Roger needed to fill a portfolio. To go to Greece required money. Rowing made him happy, though. He decided to draw pictures of famous places for his portfolio, sell copies so he didn't have to waste time on a job, and use his free time for rowing. What a great solution!

The Power of the Mind Creates Your Reality

Not all people realize that mind power can actually help bring positive changes to one's life. You may not realize it but you are actually using it in your everyday life. The power of the mind influences all aspects of your life. While it commands you body to function, it may also command positive energies to bring positive changes in your life.
In fact, the more scientist research quantum physics it seems that our whole reality is in fact merely a product of our own mind. That our mind power is in fact reality even with eastern religions, the power of the mind has demonstrated its influences to reality. They believed that the concept of being real exists because it is the manifestations of our imaginations.
Ironically, in this age of advanced science, experts are still looking at ancient scrolls and texts to determine the true nature of being real or reality. So if reality is a creation of our mind, then it seems logical to presume that we can change our reality by changing the way we think about things. We can change things into whatever we want with the power of the mind.

One place to start making relevant changes to life is by mental conditioning. Unlocking the power of the mind through meditation can clear out unnecessary thoughts and replace it with positive thoughts and fresh new ideas. There are actually a number of techniques on which you can meditate and effectively develop the power of the mind.

To effectively meditate, try sitting on a comfortable chair in a darkened room. Close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing. Breathe in through your nose and out to your mouth. You may experience light headedness but it is only your body's natural reaction to the increase in its system's oxygen supply.
Start by picturing in your mind that you are sitting in front of a tranquil pond, full of small pebbles. These pebbles represent every day thoughts and ideas that are constantly entering and exiting your head. Picture you removing these random thoughts one by one, clearing them out. Once this is done, you are ready to unlock the power of the mind. One the one side you have a pile of these random thoughts, on the other you have another pile with wishes and wants.

Wishes like world peace certainly takes bigger solutions, it takes more than one person's thoughts to make it happen. Hoping for things like to stop global warming and save the planet could be impossible as it is unreachable by one person alone. Personal goals and dreams such as dream jobs and happiness are the hopes and dreams that you can achieve as it is your mind that is to control your life's outcomes. For example, if you are having trouble in your relationship, you could wish for help communicating with your partner. While you can't make them communicate with you, you can influence them by improving yourself.
But while mind power can bring positive changes into your life, it may not happen right away. Some things take time to happen. For instance, you need time to develop and unlock the power of the mind and overcome all your negativity.
Although the power of the mind is powerful enough to help you live your ideal self and ideal life, it still needs you to do your part. Hoping to work out a relationship without extending effort to actually talk with your partner will not make things any better. You have to remember, while your mind has the power to improve your life, it needs you to direct how those changes will ever come about.
In truth, you use your subconscious mind power every day. Whenever you dream about getting your dream job and hope to fully recover from an illness, you actually put the power of the mind in action. This perhaps explains why is it that when you think of something before you go to bed, it seem to magically happens in the morning. There are instances when you plan to wake up at a certain time before sleeping at night, and you end up waking at that exact same time.
